Welcome to the new weblog

Tigger's are wonderful things!

It’s not quite ready for primetime, but it’s time to get the show on the road! If you’ve been following me at my old weblog, it’s time redirect your RSS reader to this site, all two of you. 🙂

A friend is taking a look at my CSS and fixing it up so I get the look I’m after. The color scheme is correct but the layout isn’t quite there. I’m sure he’ll have some design goodness to share with me, he’s very good at what he does, so I’m looking forward to what he comes up with. (Tigger is supposed to be aligned right, gotta fix that.)

In the meantime the site will be operational, everything will move here at some point. I’m not going to carry the look of the old site forward, no more apple cores. I will miss them, but I love brown and orange, and the cores don’t fit the color scheme.

So long good friend, it was nice knowing you, hopefully this site will live long beyond your nine years.

Here’s to the future! Onward!

Hey thanks guys! Yeah, it’s been a while in coming, and it’s not quite the way I’d like it to be, but it’s a start, a work in progress.

Bill, I don’t currently plan on migrating the posts. They’re all statically published at rob.crabapples.net, and searchable, so I don’t really see a need to bring them here.

Is there a good reason to do that? I’d love to hear what you have to say about it.

Phil, I see this theme as a starting point. It has a ways to go. I’m hoping to get the full thing rolled out soon, with a nice CHUNKY footer that contains a bunch of stuff. 🙂

I was asking since I need to move the main billsaysthis blog and was wondering about your experience.

I could just leave the existing posts as static pages and start fresh like you, wouldn’t kill me 🙂

Bill,

I don’t think it would be an issue to import them from Blogger, I just chose not to because I decided to unify my presence on the web to fahrni.ws, it made sense to leave the old stuff alone.

I will say this, I LOVE WORDPRESS!
